A Clear Strategy Starts With the Right Profile

Express Entry is Canada’s online application management system for qualified skilled workers seeking permanent residence through participating federal economic immigration programs.

Eligible candidates enter a pool and receive a Comprehensive Ranking System score. This score is calculated using information such as age, education, official-language ability, skilled work experience, spouse factors, and eligible additional factors.

Yes Immigration helps you understand which program may fit your circumstances, identify areas that may strengthen your profile, and prepare for the documentation required at each stage.

Express Entry Questions

General answers to common questions about Canada’s Express Entry system.

Express Entry is an online system used by the Government of Canada to manage applications from skilled workers under three federal economic immigration programs.
Express Entry manages the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Each program has separate minimum eligibility requirements.
There is no single permanent CRS cut-off. Invitation scores can vary according to the type of round, the candidates being considered, and instructions issued for that round. A higher score may improve your ranking but does not guarantee an ITA.
A Canadian job offer is not required for every Express Entry program. However, employment circumstances may still be relevant to program requirements or other parts of an immigration strategy. Your situation should be reviewed individually.
If you do not receive an invitation, your profile can remain in the Express Entry pool for up to 12 months. You must keep the information and time-sensitive documents in your profile accurate and valid.
An ITA allows you to submit an electronic application for permanent residence under the program identified in your invitation. IRCC currently provides 60 days to complete and submit the application.
An eligible nomination accepted through an Express Entry aligned Provincial Nominee Program can provide 600 additional CRS points.

Verify Current Immigration Requirements

Immigration programs, invitation rounds, document requirements, fees, and policies can change. Always verify current information through official Government of Canada sources.
