Tourism & Vacation
For travellers planning a temporary holiday, sightseeing trip or personal visit to explore Canada.
- Proposed travel itinerary
- Accommodation arrangements
- Financial and employment evidence
Whether you are planning a family visit, vacation, business trip or an extended stay with your children or grandchildren, we help you present a clear and well-documented temporary residence application.
A Canadian visitor visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa, allows eligible travellers to seek entry to Canada for a temporary purpose.
Immigration officers consider the purpose and length of the visit, financial capacity, employment or business circumstances, travel history, family connections and whether the applicant is likely to leave Canada when required.
Every document should support a consistent explanation of why you are travelling, how the visit will be funded and what will bring you back to your country of residence.
The appropriate application depends on your nationality, travel purpose, family relationship and current immigration status.
For travellers planning a temporary holiday, sightseeing trip or personal visit to explore Canada.
For temporary visits with relatives living, working or studying in Canada.
For eligible short-term business activities that do not involve entering the Canadian labour market.
A longer-stay visitor option for eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
For eligible temporary residents who want to extend their authorized stay in Canada as visitors.
Visa-exempt travellers arriving in Canada by air may require an Electronic Travel Authorization instead of a visitor visa.
Visitor visa decisions are based on the complete circumstances presented in the application. One document rarely determines the outcome by itself.
Your forms, invitation letter, financial documents, employment evidence and travel plan should support the same clear and credible explanation.
Why you want to visit, what you plan to do and why the proposed duration is reasonable.
Whether the applicant or host has sufficient and explainable funds for the proposed visit.
Employment, business, family, education, property and other responsibilities supporting your return.
Previous international travel, compliance with visas and any earlier refusals or immigration applications.
The relationship with the host, their status in Canada and the support or accommodation being offered.
Whether the forms, dates, financial records and personal explanation provide a coherent picture.
Document requirements vary by nationality, country of residence, reason for travelling and personal circumstances. Your application should include relevant evidence rather than unnecessary volume.

We review your travel purpose, financial position, home ties, immigration history and potential concerns.
We determine the appropriate entry document and create a personalized supporting-document plan.
Your documents are collected and organized to support the proposed purpose and duration of travel.

The application is submitted through the applicable IRCC process with the supporting documents.
We help you understand the decision, passport-request process and important arrival considerations.
Reapplying with the same forms and evidence may lead to the same concerns. A new application should identify the refusal issues and include meaningful new information or clarification.
Depending on the circumstances, it may be helpful to review the refusal letter, application history, supporting documents and available officer notes before choosing the next step.
Request a Refusal ReviewWe help you understand the requirements and prepare an application that clearly communicates your temporary travel purpose.

General information about temporary visits, extensions, entry documents and visitor visa applications.
The entry document you need depends on your nationality, passport, travel method and other eligibility factors. Visa-exempt travellers arriving by air commonly require an eTA, while travellers from visa-required countries generally require a visitor visa.
Most visitors are normally authorized to stay for up to six months. However, the border services officer may authorize a shorter or longer period and may issue a specific departure date or visitor record.
No. An invitation letter can help explain the purpose of the visit and arrangements in Canada, but IRCC also assesses the applicant's finances, home-country ties, travel history and intention to leave Canada.
There is no single amount appropriate for every visitor. The required funds depend on the length of the trip, number of travellers, accommodation, transportation and whether another person will provide financial support.
You may apply for a visitor record to extend your authorized stay. IRCC recommends applying at least 30 days before your current status expires. A visitor record is not a visa and does not guarantee re-entry after leaving Canada.
The Super Visa is designed for eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It can permit stays of up to five years at a time, subject to current requirements including host income, medical insurance and an immigration medical examination.
A visitor visa does not normally authorize employment in Canada. Most foreign nationals require separate authorization before working. Business visitor activities are also different from entering the Canadian labour market.
Yes. Applications must be truthful and complete. Previous refusals and immigration history should be disclosed as requested and addressed accurately. False or incomplete information can create serious immigration consequences.
Immigration requirements, fees, processing times and entry rules can change. This page provides general information and does not guarantee visa issuance or admission to Canada. Always confirm current requirements through official IRCC resources.
