APPLICATION ROUTES

Two Main Ways to Apply Through a PNP

The appropriate process depends on the province, the immigration stream, and whether you qualify for a federal Express Entry program.

EXPRESS ENTRY ALIGNED

Enhanced Provincial Nomination

This route is connected to the federal Express Entry system. You generally need an active Express Entry profile, eligibility for at least one federal Express Entry program, and eligibility under the province’s relevant stream.

A Provincial Nominee Program allows a participating province or territory to nominate eligible applicants who can contribute to its economic and community priorities and who genuinely intend to settle in that jurisdiction.
Not for every PNP stream. Express Entry-aligned streams require an eligible Express Entry profile, while base or non-Express Entry streams follow a separate provincial and federal application process.
